Your Spiritual Growth

God nudges us to be in relationship with Him, and we don’t hear His voice until He is ready for us to hear His voice.  Your personal Spiritual Growth may be different from others, and may begin at any stage of life. Our hope is that you may grow in relationship with God, and establish supportive, nurturing partnerships with fellow Christians in your community. Jump in and discover where you are on your path of Discipleship.   

Wading...

You are willing to step out of your comfort zone and trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  You want to find out how to follow Him, but don’t know where to start.  You need help learning to study the Bible and applying it to your life.  You want to live out your faith in the real world, but you need the support and encouragement of other Christians who will love you in spite of your mistakes.  You have made a commitment to test the waters by attending Worship regularly, making an effort to Get Connected with a Bible Study Group, and learning more about how to be a follower of Jesus Christ!    

Surfing...

You want to know God’s will for your life and how to pursue it with your whole heart.  You want to deepen your study of His Word consistently on your own, and with fellow Christians.  You’ve built some solid relationships and are trying to hold each other accountable to follow Jesus in your daily lives.  You’re also intentionally building relationships with the people around you who don’t know Jesus, looking for the opportunity to share His love and truth with them.  You want to identify your spiritual gifts and find a place to serve in the church.  You have tested the waters and made a connection with DUMC, and are actively participating in a small group.  You want to , Get Involved by investing your time, talents and interests in Volunteer Ministry.

Diving... 

Your relationship with God and other people are the top priorities in your life.  You want to study God's Word and related doctrine and theology.  You're ready for a challenge!  You are prepared to mentor people who are just beginning their journey of faith and willing to invest in those around you by helping them grow and mature.  You want to take on more responsibility in the church and begin to meet the needs within the community.  You are regularly attending Worship and Bible Study, and actively serving as a Volunteer.  You are ready to sacrifice your time, talents and spiritual wisdom for Greater Things by facilitating a new study, or getting involved with local Missions. 

Fishing...

God is calling you to a leadership position within the church, to share the wisdom you've gained through years of studying and applying His Word.  You want to teach, serve, or lead in a specific area of ministry, utilizing the spiritual gifts God has given you.  You will not neglect the spiritual disciplines you've learned through consistent Bible study, and you will do everything you can to encourage and help those around you to grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ.  You would like to learn more about how to Start a Program, serve as a Lay Leader or Member on the Church Council.  Contact one of the pastors, (850) 837-2021, or Anita Sharron at asharron@destinumc.org  for more information, or to download a copy of the Program Proposal Packet and Room Booking Request
